Last weekend, a handful of our colleagues volunteered at the National Games of Special Olympics Belgium in Malmedy and experienced firsthand what makes this event so special.
They supported the athletics competitions, helping with set-up and dismantling, guiding athletes on and around the field, assisting the competition organization, and most importantly: cheering on the athletes and contributing to the incredible atmosphere.
At Beaulieu, we believe in turning commitment into action. Through our partnership with Special Olympics Belgium, and within our “beau lieu together” initiative, we actively support inclusive environments where everyone can thrive - on and off the field.
The passion, resilience and team spirit of the athletes, combined with the dedication of coaches and organizers, made this event truly unforgettable.
As our colleague Erwin Zenner beautifully shared:
“Being part of this event is incredibly rewarding. The energy is so positive - everyone is enthusiastic, supportive and fully engaged. After just one day, you can already feel the genuine appreciation from the athletes.
One moment really stayed with me: there was a young man I encouraged throughout the day who didn’t seem to respond much. But at the end, he came up and gave me a big hug - that meant a lot.
Another unforgettable moment was helping a boy in his wheelchair onto the podium for a first-place photo. He said, full of excitement, ‘This will be the photo of my life.’
It truly shows how impactful these moments are - not just for the athletes, but for everyone involved.”
A special thank you to our volunteers - your enthusiasm, time and energy made a real difference. You are a great example of how we bring our values to life.
Thank you as well to everyone who helped make these National Games such a success.
